Well, in the second injury report of the week, that is exactly what happened.</p><p class="has-text-align-none">For Kentucky, there were no changes on the injury report tonight as DJ Waller and Tavion Gadson both remain listed as probable. Especially on the Waller injury, returning him with Terhyon Nichols already ruled out will help this pass defense against the Gators’ passing attack.</p><p class="has-text-align-none">For the Gators, the three players listed as questionable last night have now been removed from the report. In 2024, his first in Chicago, he played in all 17 games, recording 11 special teams tackles, tying for the team lead.</p><p class="has-text-align-none">I’m not saying Chicago’s third phase needs Amen, but through eight games, their punt coverage is allowing 11 yards per return (14th most), and their kickoff coverage has allowed 29 yards per return (3rd most).</p><p class="has-text-align-none">The 27-year-old, five-year veteran could also be needed on a defense that may be without starting linebacker T.J. Edwards, who has been nursing a hand and hamstring injury. </p><p class="has-text-align-none">Jones (24) had played in 7 games this season, all on special teams, making 10 total tackles. If he clears waivers, he’s a likely candidate to be re-signed to the practice squad. </p><p class="has-text-align-none">With the trade deadline now passed, all players released must pass through waivers, whereas before the deadline, players with four or more accrued seasons (vested veterans) were immediate free agents. </p>)
